The average export price for iron or steel; cast articleses stood at $2,822 per ton in August 2023, approximately mirroring the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 3.8% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $3,014 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Norway ($4,677 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($2,267 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
