The average export price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses stood at $59,871 per ton in November 2023, with an increase of 50% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 111% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $126K per ton. From January 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for India.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Afghanistan amounted to +7.7% per month.

The average import price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses stood at $4,480 per ton in 2022, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, import price indicated a prominent expansion from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last five years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
