Price for Liquefied Ethylene, Propylene, Butylene and Butadiene in Italy (FOB) - 2023
In November 2023, the average export price for liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadienes amounted to $7,052 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed noticeable growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 390% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in November 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($17,366 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($3,405 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Albania (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Liquefied Ethylene, Propylene, Butylene and Butadiene in Italy
For the third year in a row, Italy recorded decline in overseas shipments of liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadienes, which decreased by -6.2% to 47K tons in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a dramatic curtailment.
In value terms, exports of liquefied ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadienes dropped sharply to $36M in 2022. In general, exports recorded a precipitous setback. The smallest decline of -15% was in 2020.
