In November 2023, the average import price for metals; platinum, unwrought or in powder forms amounted to $30.4M per ton, with an increase of 2.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 7.2% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $33,678 per kg; afterwards, it flattened through to November 2023.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were South Africa ($30.7M per ton) and Belgium ($29.7M per ton), while the price for the United States ($28.9M per ton) and Germany ($29.1M per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In November 2023, the average export price for metals; platinum, unwrought or in powder forms amounted to $28.8M per ton, surging by 2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 10% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $34.7M per ton in May 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to November 2023.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were China ($29.8M per ton) and Switzerland ($29.6M per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($27.2M per ton) and South Korea ($27.9M per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+12.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
