In July 2023, the average import price for nickel; bars, rods, profiles and wires amounted to $37,563 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the period from November 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 28% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $39,586 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($67,680 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($18,954 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+29.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $36,175 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($42,155 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($21,734 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
