The average import price for nickel; wire, of nickel alloyses stood at $24,141 per ton in 2022, increasing by 3.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 11% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $28,608 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($28,778 per ton), while the price for Russia ($22,110 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 37%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $34,013 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($38,657 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($4,758 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
