The average export price for onions, shallots, garlic, leeks and other alliaceous vegetables; fresh or chilleds stood at $409 per ton in 2022, reducing by -19.8% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for onions, shallots, garlic, leeks and other alliaceous vegetables; fresh or chilleds decreased by -25.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $550 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($1,763 per ton), while the average price for exports to Chile ($86 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ecuador (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price posted a significant expansion. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for South Korea.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +5.1% per year.
