The average import price for paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses stood at $21,515 per ton in November 2023, which is down by -5.4% against the previous month. Over the last eleven-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +5.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 44% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $22,751 per ton in October 2023, and then contracted in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($31,269 per ton), while the price for Poland ($17,105 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In December 2023, the average export price for paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses amounted to $10,738 per ton, with a decrease of -4.5% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable increase from December 2022 to December 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2023 figures, export price for paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses decreased by -10.2% against October 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 119% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $18,702 per ton. From May 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($13,753 per ton), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($5,829 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses decreased by -1% to 857 tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 75% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 866 tons, and then dropped slightly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses fell to $13M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 99% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $16M, and then reduced in the following year.
