In December 2023, the average export price for paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses amounted to $36,208 per ton, waning by -20.6% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 38% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $46,371 per ton. From May 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($41,030 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($31,383 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price peaked at $37,334 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 40% against the previous year.

In value terms, exports of paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses skyrocketed to $5.1M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 33% against the previous year.

In value terms, imports of paper, cigarette; in the form of booklets or tubeses totaled $2.3M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a abrupt setback.
