Price for Polyolefins Other than Polypropylene in Switzerland (CIF) - 2023
The average polyolefins other than polypropylene import price stood at $1,800 per ton in December 2023, declining by -3.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2023 an increase of 2.5% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,175 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($4,504 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($1,303 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In December 2023, the average polyolefins other than polypropylene export price amounted to $3,362 per ton, with an increase of 44% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a tangible expansion from December 2022 to December 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2023 figures, polyolefins other than polypropylene export price increased by +45.3% against October 2023 indices.
