The average import price for rubber; natural (excluding latex), in smoked sheetses stood at $1,522 per ton in October 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 3% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,913 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Thailand ($1,551 per ton) and Malaysia ($1,533 per ton), while the price for Cote d'Ivoire ($1,222 per ton) and Bangladesh ($1,430 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Myanmar (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for rubber; natural (excluding latex), in smoked sheetses stood at $2,450 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 5.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 33% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $3,263 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Angola ($5,358 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($2,157 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
