The average import price for spices; nutmeg, crushed or ground stood at $11,180 per ton in May 2023, with an increase of 14% against the previous month. Over the period from May 2022 to May 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 25% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $12,093 per ton. From December 2022 to May 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $15,658 per ton. From March 2023 to May 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Portugal ($14,640 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($9,567 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Spices; Nutmeg, Crushed or Ground in Belgium
