In June 2023, the average import price for spices; nutmeg, crushed or ground amounted to $10,011 per ton, dropping by -7.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 20% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $11,803 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($15,314 per ton), while the price for Indonesia totaled $8,495 per ton.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sri Lanka (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked in June 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($27,921 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($14,932 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
