Price for Spirits, Liqueurs and Other Spirituous Beverages in Cameroon (CIF) - 2022

The average import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages stood at $2.3 per litre in 2022, shrinking by -6.9% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages increased by +49.4% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2.5 per litre in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United Arab Emirates.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Nigeria amounted to +16.4% per year.

Price for Spirits, Liqueurs and Other Spirituous Beverages in Cameroon (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages stood at $7.5 per litre in 2022, waning by -3.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $10 per litre in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Central African Republic ($31 per litre), while the average price for exports to Congo stood at $6 per litre.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Central African Republic (+14.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Spirits, Liqueurs and Other Spirituous Beverages in Cameroon

In 2022, the amount of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages imported into Cameroon skyrocketed to 2.7M litres, growing by 156% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports showed significant growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages surged to $6.2M in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed a significant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, shipments abroad of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages decreased by -2% to 2.8K litres, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -7.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 57% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3K litres. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages declined to $21K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 27%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $25K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a lower figure.
