Price for Stainless Steel Bars and Rods, Angles, Shapes and Sections in China (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses stood at $2,909 per ton in December 2023, surging by 5.3% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 11% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,839 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($4,809 per ton), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($1,582 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses stood at $8,708 per ton in December 2023, with an increase of 9.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 17% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $9,666 per ton in October 2023; however, from November 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($18,461 per ton), while the price for France ($5,711 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Stainless Steel Bars and Rods, Angles, Shapes and Sections in China
