In November 2023, the average import price for steel, stainless; semi-finished products, other than of rectangular cross-sectia amounted to $6,042 per ton, growing by 21% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 65% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $14,203 per ton in September 2023; however, from October 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($17,843 per ton), while the price for China ($2,359 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In November 2023, the average export price for steel, stainless; semi-finished products, other than of rectangular cross-sectia amounted to $12,233 per ton, with an increase of 115% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 123% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $40,900 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to November 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Norway ($180K per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($13,918 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+45.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of steel, stainless; semi-finished products, other than of rectangular cross-sectia imported into the Netherlands rose to 2K tons, with an increase of 4.9% compared with 2021.
