In December 2021, the average sulphates; alums; peroxosulphates (persulphates) import price amounted to $463 per ton, growing by 14% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a temperate increase from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, sulphates; alums; peroxosulphates (persulphates) import price increased by +98.3% against July 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2021 when the average import price increased by 114% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $521 per ton in March 2021; however, from April 2021 to December 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was India ($631 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($226 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Overall, the export price recorded a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2021 when the average export price increased by 185% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,186 per ton in January 2021; however, from February 2021 to December 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($4,401 per ton), while the average price for exports to Papua New Guinea ($188 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
