The average export price for textiles; worn clothing and other worn articleses stood at $1,037 per ton in December 2023, reducing by -3.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 30% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,394 per ton. From February 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Senegal ($1,469 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($168 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kenya (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In December 2023, the average import price for textiles; worn clothing and other worn articleses amounted to $677 per ton, reducing by -18.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2023 when the average import price increased by 17% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,047 per ton. From September 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($2,110 per ton), while the price for Canada stood at $1,552 per ton.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
