The average tobacco, unmanufactured; tobacco refuse export price stood at $3,434 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -7.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 14% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $3,987 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($4,863 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($1,836 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price peaked at $8,263 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
