In 2022, the average export price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron amounted to $1,238 per ton, growing by 48% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 92%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,947 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Nicaragua ($1,342 per ton), while the average price for exports to Chile ($814 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nicaragua (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average import price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron amounted to $1,743 per ton, jumping by 48% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a perceptible expansion. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($11,579 per ton), while the price for Austria ($802 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+28.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, imports of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron soared to $2.3M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a sharp decline.
