In 2022, the average import price for vegetable saps and extracts; of liquorice amounted to $29,154 per ton, growing by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for vegetable saps and extracts; of liquorice decreased by -5.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 96%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $43,650 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of vegetable saps and extracts; of liquorice decreased by -13.3% to 26 kg in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 92%.

In value terms, imports of vegetable saps and extracts; of liquorice declined to $758 in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 81%.
