Price for Waste, Parings and Scrap, of Plastics in Cameroon (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average export price for waste, parings and scrap, of plasticses amounted to $244 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 6.4%. The export price peaked at $618 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($705 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($93 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Portugal (+19.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for waste, parings and scrap, of plasticses stood at $274 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 26% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $737 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lebanon ($1,680 per ton), while the price for Chad ($53 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lebanon (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 99% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $245K, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
