The average export price for wood stood at $12.0 per cubic meter in December 2022, jumping by 22% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 28% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $14.4 per cubic meter. From February 2022 to December 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In December 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Moldova ($12.1 per cubic meter) and Romania ($11.4 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Poland ($10.2 per cubic meter) and Slovakia ($10.7 per cubic meter) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average import price for wood amounted to $60 per cubic meter, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $66 per cubic meter in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($113 per cubic meter), while the price for Germany amounted to $49 per cubic meter.
From 2020 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+64.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, exports of wood from Ukraine soared to 759K cubic meters, with an increase of 54% on 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 215%. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, exports of wood soared to $7.7M in 2022. In general, exports saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 199%. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In general, imports, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 181% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 118 cubic meters, and then fell significantly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of wood shrank notably to $3.4K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 126%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $6.3K, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
