The average import price for zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight less than 99.99% of zincs stood at $2,676 per ton in January 2024, growing by 2.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a mild decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 3.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,262 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to January 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices from South Korea ($2,938 per ton) and Spain ($2,797 per ton), while the price for Iran ($2,558 per ton) and Congo ($2,584 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In January 2024, the average export price for zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight less than 99.99% of zincs amounted to $2,629 per ton, picking up by 1.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2023 when the average export price increased by 2.1% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $3,311 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to January 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In January 2024, the countries with the highest prices were Serbia ($3,434 per ton) and Azerbaijan ($2,661 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($2,401 per ton) and Libya ($2,490 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (-1.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, imports of zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight less than 99.99% of zincs into Turkey expanded modestly to 228K tons, growing by 1.9% on the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 25%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
