Refined Lead Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022
The average refined lead import price stood at $2,475 per ton in March 2022, with a decrease of -4.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a modest increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2021 when the average import price increased by 8.7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,599 per ton in February 2022, and then declined slightly in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices from South Korea ($2,484 per ton) and Myanmar ($2,477 per ton), while the price for Australia ($2,433 per ton) and India ($2,450 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Myanmar (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Refined Lead Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average refined lead export price amounted to $2,290 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,368 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($5,438 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,547 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+20.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Refined Lead Imports in Indonesia
In 2022, imports of refined lead (unwrought) into Indonesia rose remarkably to 43K tons, surging by 13% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +74.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 55% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, refined lead imports soared to $114M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 84%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In 2022, shipments abroad of refined lead (unwrought) was finally on the rise to reach 1.6K tons after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant contraction.
In value terms, refined lead exports skyrocketed to $3.6M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, faced a precipitous contraction.
