Sausage Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
The average sausage import price stood at $5,174 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 1.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $5,286 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Russia ($5,212 per ton) and Australia ($5,212 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($4,775 per ton) and Italy ($5,030 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sausage Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average sausage export price amounted to $4,759 per ton, surging by 4.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 15%. The export price peaked at $6,528 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($5,084 per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($3,033 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lao People's Democratic Republic (-2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Sausage Imports in Vietnam
Sausage imports into Vietnam reduced sharply to 218 tons in 2022, with a decrease of -15.1% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 43%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 256 tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, sausage imports dropped to $1.1M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.3M, and then dropped in the following year.
