In May 2023, the average speed changer import price amounted to $14,801 per ton, increasing by 3.5% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a moderate expansion from May 2022 to May 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on May 2023 figures, speed changer import price increased by +7.9% against March 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 22% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $15,380 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to May 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($29,879 per ton), while the price for Italy ($7,295 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on May 2023 figures, speed changer export price decreased by -12.3% against February 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 58% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $20,362 per ton. From March 2023 to May 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($156K per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($4,164 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
