In 2022, the average spices; nutmeg import price amounted to $33,003 per ton, reducing by -4.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 9.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $34,499 per ton in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($33,744 per ton), while the price for the United States totaled $17,521 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+8.5%).

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of spices; nutmeg decreased by -1.7% to 52 tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 3.5% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 53 tons, and then reduced slightly in the following year.
