Stainless Steel Wire Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average stainless steel wire import price amounted to $4,601 per ton, increasing by 33% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($9,960 per ton), while the price for India ($3,444 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average stainless steel wire export price amounted to $5,874 per ton, growing by 31% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 46%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($24,341 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($1,222 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+24.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Stainless Steel Wire Imports in Turkey
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of stainless steel wire decreased by -12.5% to 18K tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.5% over the last three-year period. In value terms, stainless steel wire imports surged to $85M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 40%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, shipments abroad of stainless steel wire decreased by -12.3% to 498 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 760 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, stainless steel wire exports expanded rapidly to $2.9M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.6% over the last three years.
