Strawberry Price in Latvia (CIF) - 2023
The average strawberry import price stood at $6,084 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 26% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a noticeable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 109% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $7,471 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($8,193 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($4,686 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Strawberry Price in Latvia (FOB) - 2022
The average strawberry export price stood at $3,735 per ton in 2022, falling by -15.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 174%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $7,434 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($4,494 per ton), while the average price for exports to Estonia stood at $3,418 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Strawberry Imports in Latvia
Strawberry imports into Latvia soared to 3.4K tons in 2022, picking up by 30% on the previous year.
