Sugary Soft Drink Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023

In July 2023, the average sugary soft drink export price amounted to $777 per thousand litres, increasing by 6.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 13% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $920 per thousand litres in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1.5 per litre), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($344 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sugary Soft Drink Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023

The average sugary soft drink import price stood at $1.2 per litre in July 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 8.2% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1.5 per litre. From April 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($1.4 per litre), while the price for Greece ($574 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Sugary Soft Drink Exports in Turkey

Sugary soft drink exports from Turkey rose significantly to 411M litres in 2022, picking up by 10% on 2021. Overall, total exports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +55.2% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, sugary soft drink exports skyrocketed to $310M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Sugary Soft Drink Imports in Turkey

For the fourth year in a row, Turkey recorded growth in supplies from abroad of sugary soft drinks, which increased by 50% to 146M litres in 2022. Over the period under review, imports posted a significant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, sugary soft drink imports soared to $180M in 2022. In general, imports showed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 63%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
