The average sulphates; of aluminium import price stood at $201 per ton in 2022, reducing by -4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 54%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $308 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($326 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($152 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, overseas purchases of sulphates; of aluminia decreased by -50.5% to 158 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 38%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 419 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sulphates; of aluminium imports shrank significantly to $32K in 2022. In general, imports showed a precipitous setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 4.2% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $78K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
