Sweet Potato Price in Ireland (CIF) - 2023
The average sweet potato import price stood at $1,000 per ton in June 2023, which is down by -3.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 24% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,039 per ton in May 2023, and then reduced slightly in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,143 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($899 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sweet Potato Price in Ireland (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average sweet potato export price amounted to $1,491 per ton, shrinking by -12% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 54%. The export price peaked at $3,058 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($2,764 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK amounted to $1,452 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+14.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Sweet Potato Imports in Ireland
