Taro (Cocoyam) Price in France (CIF) - 2023
In October 2023, the average taro (cocoyam) import price amounted to $1,566 per ton, with a decrease of -11.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 129% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $2,490 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Costa Rica ($3,066 per ton), while the price for Dominica ($364 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Costa Rica (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
