Toy Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022

In January 2022, the average toy import price amounted to $9,537 per ton, picking up by 3.3% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a slight expansion from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, toy import price decreased by -15.2% against September 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 an increase of 18% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $11,247 per ton in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to January 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($25,231 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($6,078 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Toy Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022

The average toy export price stood at $4,882 per ton in January 2022, waning by -64.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2021 an increase of 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $13,871 per ton in December 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($23,087 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($2,382 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Toy Imports in Russia

Toy imports into Russia declined modestly to 156K tons in 2022, which is down by -3.3% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 7.2% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 161K tons, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

In value terms, toy imports declined to $1.3B in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 22%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.4B, and then fell in the following year.

Toy Exports in Russia

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of dolls and toys decreased by -5.2% to 10K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.6% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year.

In value terms, toy exports contracted to $121M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +40.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 30%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $136M, and then dropped in the following year.
