Umbrella Price in the Philippines (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average umbrella import price amounted to $849 per thousand units, growing by 3.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 1,420% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8.0 per unit. From November 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for China.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +2.5% per month.

The average umbrella export price stood at $10 per unit in 2022, waning by -14.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 295% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $12 per unit in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($16 per unit), while the average price for exports to Micronesia ($1.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+49.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
