Vegetable Product Price in Iran (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average vegetable product import price amounted to $2,128 per ton, shrinking by -3.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted mild growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $4,195 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($2,422 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($1,336 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Vegetable Product Price in Iran (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average vegetable product export price amounted to $371 per ton, with an increase of 4.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 70% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,686 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($633 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($64 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-12.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Vegetable Product Imports in Iran
In 2022, the amount of vegetable products imported into Iran dropped significantly to 3.6K tons, with a decrease of -32.8% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports saw a sharp curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 190%.
In value terms, vegetable product imports fell notably to $7.6M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a dramatic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 235%.

Vegetable Product Exports in Iran
Vegetable product exports from Iran rose sharply to 59 tons in 2022, surging by 7.8% compared with 2021 figures.
