Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Price in Ghana (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average vinegar-preserved vegetable export price amounted to $1,287 per ton, waning by -29.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average export price increased by 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,986 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,690 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($198 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (-1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average vinegar-preserved vegetable import price stood at $1,700 per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 73% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,067 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lebanon ($2,832 per ton), while the price for the UK ($360 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Nigeria (+21.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Exports in Ghana
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes, when their volume increased by 570% to 109 tons. Overall, exports, however, showed a abrupt downturn.
In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable exports soared to $141K in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a abrupt decline.

Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Imports in Ghana
In 2022, purchases abroad of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes decreased by -8.7% to 79 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -28.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 95%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 110 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable imports dropped to $133K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 237%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $161K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
