Wood Fuel Price in South Korea (CIF) - 2022
The average wood fuel import price stood at $384 per cubic meter in 2022, jumping by 37% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a notable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 159% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $582 per cubic meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,501 per cubic meter), while the price for Vietnam ($133 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+24.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wood Fuel Price in South Korea (FOB) - 2022
In 2021, the average wood fuel export price amounted to $1,537 per cubic meter, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 236%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,126 per cubic meter. From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Wood Fuel Imports in South Korea
In 2022, purchases abroad of wood fuel decreased by -43.4% to 231 cubic meters, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a dramatic shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 602 cubic meters. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
