Wrapping Papers Price in Germany (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average wrapping papers export price amounted to $1,496 per ton, rising by 17% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,987 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cote d'Ivoire ($1,182 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wrapping Papers Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average wrapping papers import price stood at $1,444 per ton in June 2023, falling by -6.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 6% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,571 per ton. From December 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($1,944 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($1,174 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wrapping Papers Exports in Germany
In 2022, shipments abroad of wrapping paper, packaging paper and paperboard decreased by -5.1% to 1.1M tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 9.6%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 1.2M tons, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, wrapping papers exports rose significantly to $1.7B in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +11.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 23%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Wrapping Papers Imports in Germany
