In 2023, shipments abroad of man-made filament yarn decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, man-made filament yarn exports reduced to $X in 2023. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2023, Indonesia (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) was the main exporter of man-made filament yarn in ASEAN, generating X% of total export.

Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, man-made filament yarn imports shrank significantly to $X in 2023. Total imports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period.
