Exports in Asia

In 2022, the amount of m-xylene and mixed xylene isomers exported in Asia fell slightly to X tons, declining by X% on 2021 figures. In general, exports showed a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the three major exporters of m-xylene and mixed xylene isomers, namely Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Iran, represented more than two-thirds of total export. Japan (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an X% share, followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X%) and Saudi Arabia (X%). China (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Moreover, Malaysia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Indonesia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
