The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 714% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, electrical fuse exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw significant growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Uzbekistan represented the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which recorded 75% of total exports. Kazakhstan (X kg) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X kg) and Mongolia (X kg). All these countries together took near 23% share of total exports. Tajikistan (X kg) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Uzbekistan decreased at an average annual rate of -4.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Mongolia (+29.0%), Tajikistan (+28.5%) and Kyrgyzstan (+26.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mongolia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +29.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-13.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (+75 p.p.), Kyrgyzstan (+5.2 p.p.), Mongolia (+3.6 p.p.) and Tajikistan (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Kazakhstan (-85.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) emerged as the largest electrical fuse supplier in Central Asia, comprising 83% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 7.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 5.1% share.

In Uzbekistan, electrical fuse exports increased at an average annual rate of +356.0% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kyrgyzstan (+40.3% per year) and Kazakhstan (-6.6% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, growing by 127% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a prominent expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, overseas purchases of electrical fuses increased by 20% to X tons, rising for the fourth consecutive year after three years of decline. Total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +87.9% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, electrical fuse imports shrank to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 50% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.

Kazakhstan was the main importer of electrical fuses in Central Asia, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near 62% of total imports in 2021. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Uzbekistan (X tons) and Tajikistan (X tons). All these countries together held near 33% share of total imports. Turkmenistan (X tons) and Mongolia (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+17.5% per year) and Tajikistan (-1.9% per year).
