Groundnut Oil Exports

Exports in Central Asia

Groundnut oil exports surged to X tons in 2022, jumping by X% against 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, groundnut oil exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a dramatic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Uzbekistan (X tons) represented the major exporter of groundnut oil in Central Asia, constituting X% of total export.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the groundnut oil exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2013 to 2022. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) also remains the largest groundnut oil supplier in Central Asia.

In value terms, groundnut oil imports contracted markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

Imports by Country

Kyrgyzstan was the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which amounted to X% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X kg) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Mongolia (X%) and Tajikistan (X%).

Kyrgyzstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the groundnut oil imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Tajikistan (X%) and Mongolia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Kazakhstan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kyrgyzstan (X p.p.), Tajikistan (X p.p.) and Mongolia (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
