For the third year in a row, the Cuban chandelier market recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -57.3% to $X in 2021. In general, consumption showed a deep contraction. Chandelier consumption peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

For the third consecutive year, Cuba recorded decline in shipments abroad of chandeliers, which decreased by -19.9% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 792%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chandelier exports reduced rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 623% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Venezuela (X units), Spain (X units) and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (X units) were the main destinations of chandelier exports from Cuba, together accounting for 89% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Spain (with a CAGR of +25.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, chandelier imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 63% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Spain (X units), China (X units) and Panama (X units) were the main suppliers of chandelier imports to Cuba, together comprising 80% of total imports. These countries were followed by Costa Rica, Mexico and Italy, which together accounted for a further 16%.
