The volume of export peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, metal gas appliances exports dropped to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 36%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

The biggest shipments were from Poland (X units), Italy (X units), Spain (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Germany (X units), together amounting to 76% of total export. The Czech Republic (X units), Estonia (X units), Greece (X units), Portugal (X units), Denmark (X units) and Ireland (X units) took a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +30.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Spain ($X) and Italy ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 60% of total exports. Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Ireland, Portugal, Denmark and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.

Estonia, with a CAGR of +13.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, declining by -15.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while Greece ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (+14.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of iron or steel gas domestic appliances decreased by -1.9% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 111% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.

In value terms, metal gas appliances imports declined to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +20.5% against 2018 indices.
