Exports from Italy

For the fourth year in a row, Italy recorded decline in overseas shipments of typewriters and word-processing machines, which decreased by X% to X units in 2016. Overall, exports showed a sharp shrinkage. The smallest decline of X% was in 2014. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2016, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, typewriter exports declined significantly to $X in 2016. In general, exports faced a precipitous setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2016, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Hungary (X units) was the main destination for typewriter exports from Italy, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, typewriter exports to Hungary exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, India (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X units), with a X% share.
