Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2023 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2023, Brazil (X tons), distantly followed by Venezuela (X tons), Mexico (X tons), Haiti (X tons) and Chile (X tons) represented the key importers of rice, together making up X% of total imports.
