Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, man-made filament yarn imports rose sharply to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2023, Mexico (X tons), distantly followed by Brazil (X tons), Guatemala (X tons) and the Dominican Republic (X tons) were the major importers of man-made filament yarn, together mixing up X% of total imports.
