There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per unit), while Israel ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Electric rotary converter imports surged to X units in 2021, rising by 22% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, showed a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 751%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, electric rotary converter imports declined to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 377%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-2.9%), Oman (-14.8%) and Qatar (-15.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Iran (+32 p.p.), Morocco (+7.9 p.p.), Yemen (+4.4 p.p.), Kuwait (+3.8 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Oman (-5.9 p.p.) and Qatar (-25.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electric rotary converters in MENA, comprising 12% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Iran ($X), with a 4.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Kuwait, with a 3.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United Arab Emirates totaled -1.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Iran (-0.9% per year) and Kuwait (+35.7% per year).
